About The Ashburton Club & MSA
The Ashburton Club and MSA were established in the Ashburton Arcade in 1885 as a gentleman’s club, eventually moving to its current location in 1920.
During the prohibition in the early 1900s, the Ashburton Club was one of the few places legally allowed to continue to sell alcohol, as they were listed as a Working Men’s Club and not a bar.
It has been a local community icon and social hub since it opened in 1885 and today has a thriving membership of all ages.
Members enjoy a wide range of benefits, such as free transport to and from events, bottle shop discounts and great deals and discounts from service providers throughout the district.
They have an extensive list of club activities to choose from with sports and hobby groups that hold their events throughout the year. The club has a vibrant social event calendar and there is no shortage of great entertainment to attend.
